The secrets of first instar bedbugs
Share
Hello everyone. Today I will talk about the first instar of bedbugs.
I've been writing about bedbugs recently, but first, a quick recap: Bedbugs are tiny insects that live by feeding on human blood. Adults are about the size of an adult fingernail and are mainly active at night.
What is a first instar insect?
Baby insects are called larvae. In the case of bedbugs, the newly hatched larvae are called first instars.
Characteristics of the first instar:
1. Size: Very small, about 1mm.
2. Color: Immediately after birth, they are pure white, but after a few hours they turn yellow. In the photo on the left, the baby is pure white immediately after birth. As time passes, they gradually turn yellow.
3. Movement: Immediately after birth, they move slowly, but once they start drinking blood, they become very fast.
Why are first instars important?
1. They are hard to spot: They are small and light in color, making them difficult to spot.
2. Reproduction: First stage bedbugs molt repeatedly, and when they become adults they begin laying new bedbugs.
3. Early detection is key: Spotting first instar pests can prevent major damage.
countermeasure:
1. Regular inspection: Check the gaps around your bed and sofa carefully.
2. Keep it clean: Regular cleaning and washing are important.
3. Consult a professional: If you can't handle it on your own, get professional help.
Learning about first instar bedbugs is the first step in your fight against these pesky insects. Knowing your tiny enemy can bring you big peace of mind!
